Whitebait connection

We are working with Whitebait connection to investigate the health of our local stream. We have had the two in class discussions and head down to the stream for our first field trip this Thursday. This was part of the in class discussion looking at how much clean drinking water is available in the world.

Swimming sports were early this year

We had a wonderful morning at our senior swimming sports - very early in week 4 this year. Then our Western Zone got postponed due to Covid level 2 last week - waiting on news of another date in the coming weeks. Lots of our class made a great effort to swim two length races - ka pai Room 4.

Happenings

We had the tractor trek visit us with a wonderful talk about feelings and managing emotions - the big message being to talk to someone if you are not feeling happy about things.

Room 4's active start to 2021

Room 4 have been enjoying daily swimming alondside weekly dodge ball, capture the flag, ki o rahi and have even had a session of tennis with Wendy. We love Matua Derek and Matua Paulo coming in to share in games with us. We have also had two weeks in Level 2, a fire in the community and a tsunami evacuation which saw us up the hill in Pukepoto for the day - what a start 2021!
